How verification works
Anyone can write anything on a CV, and increasingly anyone can generate a convincing video of a person who does not exist. A CVfide badge is a claim that something was checked by someone other than the candidate. This page explains exactly what, by whom, and what we refuse to show you.
What a badge does not tell you
A badge shows an outcome and a date. It never shows the underlying report, and we do not send you one. If a check comes back anything other than clear, the badge simply does not appear.
That means you cannot read anything into a missing badge. A candidate who never ordered a check and a candidate whose check was not clear look identical here, and that is deliberate. Treating an absent badge as an adverse finding would make silence incriminating, and we will not build a product that does that to people.

These are not live yet, so no real profile carries them. We would rather tell you that than let you assume otherwise — a verification service that overstates what it verifies has nothing left to sell.

Why the video is hard to fake
Interview answers are recorded on our servers during a live session. There is no upload path — a candidate cannot record something elsewhere and submit it, because the only way video enters a CVfide profile is through an interview we conducted.
The interviewer asks unscripted follow-up questions based on what the candidate has just said. A pre-recorded or proxied performance has nothing to respond with.
Each published clip is signed at the moment of capture using C2PA Content Credentials, the open standard for content provenance. That signature travels with the file, so it can be checked without taking our word for anything.
Found something that does not look right?
If a profile carries a badge you have reason to doubt, tell us and we will investigate it. We would rather hear about it than have you quietly stop trusting the badge.
