Acceptable Use

What a CVfide profile may not be used for.

The principle

A CVfide profile says: this is a real person, and this is really them answering. Everything below follows from protecting that one claim. If the badge stops meaning something, the product is worthless to every honest candidate on it.

Being yourself is not optional

Do not create a profile for anyone other than yourself.
Do not have another person sit your interview, appear on camera, or answer on your behalf.
Do not present someone else's qualifications, employment history or work as your own.
Do not feed a prepared recording, a virtual camera, or synthetic video or audio into an interview.

The live interview is recorded on our servers from the moment you speak and there is no upload path into it. This is not primarily a rule we enforce; it is a thing the system does not permit. The rule exists so the consequence is clear if you find a way around it.

What a profile may not contain

Anything unlawful, or anything that incites harm or hatred.
Other people's personal information — your referees' contact details belong in a private field, not in a published video.
Material you do not have the rights to, including photographs taken by someone else without their permission.
Content that has nothing to do with representing yourself professionally. This is not a general publishing platform.

South African employment law prohibits employers from asking about certain things, and our interviewer is built not to ask about them. If you volunteer that information on camera anyway, we may ask you to re-record — it is not in your interest to have it published.

Using the service itself

Do not scrape profiles, or access the service by automated means.
Do not collect personal information from profiles you have been sent links to.
Do not probe, scan or test the security of the service without asking us first. Ask, and we will usually say yes.
Do not resell access, or use the service to run a screening business, without a written agreement with us.

If we find a breach

Depending on what it is, we may remove the content, remove the verification badge, suspend the account, or close it. Impersonation and fraud get no warning, and we will keep the consent and audit records that show what happened.

You will not be refunded for a profile closed for impersonation. You will be refunded the unused portion for anything else.

Reporting something

If you have received a CVfide link you believe is fraudulent, or a profile using your identity, tell us at support@cvfide.com. Say which link and why. We investigate every report of impersonation, and we would rather hear about it early.
