Media and Publication Licence

Because we publish your face, your voice and your words, and that deserves its own page rather than a clause buried in the terms. This sets out exactly what you are letting us do, and — more usefully — what you are not.

Everything. Your CV, your photographs, your recordings and your words remain yours. This licence gives us permission to use them; it does not transfer ownership of anything, and it does not stop you using your own material anywhere else.

You grant CVfide a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to store, reproduce, encode, and display your material, strictly for the purpose of operating the service and showing your profile to people you send the link to.

The licence has to be worldwide because your profile is delivered from servers around the world, so that an HR manager in London opens your page as quickly as one in Cape Town. It is not worldwide so that we can do anything else with it.

We may pass your material to the operators listed in the Privacy Policy purely to deliver the service — hosting it, encoding the video, transcribing the audio. They may not use it for anything else.

• We will never generate synthetic video or audio of you. Not to fix a stumble, not to improve your lighting, not to re-record an answer you did not like. Every recording on a CVfide profile is a real recording of a real person. A product that verifies authenticity cannot manufacture it.
• We will never edit the content of a recording. We cut whole answers out of a session because you chose which to publish. We do not change what is inside one.
• We will never use you in our marketing without asking. Not on the home page, not in a case study, not in a screenshot. If we want to, we will ask, and a no costs you nothing.
• We will never sell or license your material to anyone else, including recruiters, job boards and data brokers.
• We will never use your likeness or voice to train AI models, and our agreements with our operators say the same.

We use AI to improve a headshot — lighting, background, cropping, retouching. The line we hold is that the result must still be a photograph of you as you actually look. We do not change your features, your build, your skin tone, or your apparent age.

If you would rather we did not enhance your photograph at all, say so and we will publish it as taken.

For as long as your profile is published, plus the short retention period in the Privacy Policy while we finish deleting things.

Unpublish your profile and the licence ends. Delete your account and it ends along with the material itself.

The one thing we cannot undo is a copy someone else already made. If you shared your link and a recruiter downloaded your video, that copy is out of our reach — as it would be with any file you have ever emailed.

You can remove any individual answer from your profile at any time without removing the rest, from your dashboard, without asking us and without giving a reason.
